Hardly any product category is as affected by greenwashing as the textile industry. At the same time, there are genuine standards that make a real difference. We explain which labels have substance — and which are just marketing.
GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard
GOTS is the world's leading standard for organic textiles. It certifies the entire production chain — from raw material to finished product. At least 70% of fibres must be of organic origin, harmful substances are prohibited, and social standards are audited.
For brands that want to communicate genuine sustainability, GOTS is the first choice. The standard is difficult to obtain — which is what makes it credible.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
OEKO-TEX tests the finished textile for over 100 harmful substances. This means: even conventionally produced fabrics can obtain the label, as long as the end product is low in harmful substances. It says nothing about the ecological footprint of production — but a great deal about the safety of the product.
„OEKO-TEX means: safe to wear. GOTS means: ecologically produced. Having both would be ideal.“

Fair Wear Foundation
Fair Wear focuses on working conditions in textile production. Member companies are audited annually, supply chains are published and violations are made public. It is not a product label but a membership — and therefore particularly transparent.
Our approach
We work with suppliers who meet GOTS, OEKO-TEX and Fair Wear standards. On request, we provide the relevant certificates for every fabric — transparent and at no extra charge for documentation.
